Stack testing technology has advanced. Let us help you keep up
The year is 1999, and you’re feeling good. You just bought a brand new, state-of-the-art iMac. It has a 56k modem built into it, which is the fastest one you’ve ever owned. The monitor is a massive 15 inches, and it comes with a CD-ROM and two whole USB ports. It even looks great, like a funky fishbowl. It seems like it has everything you could ever want in a computer.
Now fast forward to today. That same computer is a relic. You’ve probably upgraded several times since that day. Even your phone is many times faster and more powerful, and if you were forced to use your old computer today, you’d get frustrated very quickly at how slow and difficult it is to use.
That tired old computer is just like stack testing today. If you were doing stack testing work in 1999, you’re probably still doing things about the same way today as you did back then. You’re still carting around dozens of different components, still handling glassware to collect samples, still having to collect those samples one at a time, still checking readouts with analog gauges, and still driving samples to the lab and waiting weeks to get a result. And what happens when there’s a problem with the sample? You have to schedule another time and go back to the site, set everything up again with the cables, hoses, and glass bottles, collect another sample, and then wait another couple of weeks for the results.
After more than 20 years, doesn’t it seem like someone should have come up with a better way of doing that? In fact, there is a better way: FTIR technology. Gasmet, a world leader in stack testing equipment, has created an analyzer that can measure dozens of gasses simultaneously in real-time.
The setup is incredibly simple. You have a probe that goes into the stack. The probe is connected to a pump which feeds the stack gas straight into our analyzer. All you have to do is connect your laptop and you’re ready to go. Dozens of gasses will be measured right there on site, and you’ll get immediate feedback with a digital readout. For many jobs, our FTIR analyzer is all you’ll need. But if there is a test you need to run that our analyzer doesn’t cover, it can keep running while you set up that other test. That’s right, you don’t have to babysit each test individually. Once it’s set up, the Gasmet FTIR stack analyzer will take care of the rest.
Do you remember the last time you had to redo a measurement because of some issue? This analyzer can save you a huge amount of time in situations like that. If there is an issue with the sample collection, it can detect it and warn you before the collection has even finished. You can also give preliminary results to your customers before you even leave the site. With the Gasmet FTIR analyzer, no one has to worry or feel anxious about what the lab report will show. You already know that the collection was successful and you already have results.
It’s time to ditch your old stack testing equipment. The future is Gasmet’s FTIR analyzer.
