Key Benefits

  • Pass regulatory tests smoothly. Certified low measurement range and in-house designed and manufactured technology ensure certainty in passing regulatory QAL2, QAL3 and AST tests. Interference-free operation with dilution method keeps accuracy unchanged even if the gas matrix would change.
  • Future-proof operation. The lowest certified measurement range in the world, 5 µg/Nm3, guarantees that you are ready when emission limit values change.
  • Avoid QAL3 test costs. Save up to 6000€/year with certified and integrated AutoQAL test gas generator. In-house designed and manufactured AutoQAL runs QAL3 tests fully automatically without any need for testing laboratories.
  • Keep the process running. Modular design allows the operator to easily exchange key modules and keep the monitoring running self-sufficiently to avoid expensive unexpected process disruptions.
  • Avoid excessive extending system shutdowns. As CMM is based on in-house technology, it is designed to be serviced locally with no need to send the system back to the factory.

CMM AutoQAL in use
Continuous Mercury Monitoring systems, the CMM and CMM AutoQAL, are TÜV and MCERTS certified solutions for continuous mercury monitoring from hot, wet and corrosive gas streams of industrial processes, such as waste incineration, cement production and powerplants. Gasmet offers a full CMM solution package which consists of a system, lifetime service and support, documentation and training, and our expertise.

Mercury Monitoring with Automatic QAL3 Validation Tool

CMM AutoQAL has a certified validation tool with the possibility to do both Hg0 and HgCl2 checks. This means that there is no need for an external gas generator for QAL3 operations. This leads to saved time and money, making the system more cost-efficient with minimal operating costs. Additional manual checks are possible if needed, all done with one button to ensure user-friendliness. Other benefits:

  • No need for additional QAL3 equipment
  • Software giving immediate results: Pass / Fail

Innovative Gasmet design

Mercury can be a challenging component to measure for many technologies and systems. Thanks to the CVAF (Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence ) technology and nitrogen dilution, reliable and extremely accurate results are achieved, without interferences from other gases. The system is fully automatic, and the automatic Hg0 calibrations are done at user-defined intervals.

Minimized downtime

Modular design means individual parts can be removed. This minimizes system downtime and makes the maintenance procedure easy and cost-effective. System settings can be accessed from the easy-to-use Mercury Analyzer User Interface (MAUI), created by Gasmet’s specialists.

Futureproof solution for declining emission limits

CMM AutoQAL is a futureproof solution fulfilling the certified range according to ELVs (emission limit value). According to EN 15267-3, the minimum accepted certified range WI (waste incineration) of a system shall not be more than 1.5 times the daily ELV and LCP (large combustion plants) 2.5 times daily ELV. The system has the lowest measuring range in the world, 0—5 µg/m³ (EN 15267) (max certified range is 1000 µg/m³ & even higher concentration peaks can be measured without any hardware changes).

Thermal converter ensures a long lifetime

As mercury does not always occur in its chemical element form (Hg0), characteristics of mercury are considered, and an integrated thermal converter converts all mercury compounds to elemental mercury to measure total gaseous mercury. This ensures that none of the Hg-derivatives are left undetected. It has a longer lifetime compared to traditional catalytic converters, which leads to reduced downtime and costs.

Peace of mind with continuous measurement

Continuous measurement provides better control of emissions than periodic measurement. Hg concentrations in industrial emissions are usually extremely low but can suddenly increase temporarily to very high levels depending on the fuel or incinerated waste. Operators can react to the concentration changes and optimize their processes if needed.

CMM systems overview

The system consists of a dilution probe, heated sample line, CMM cabinet, mercury analyzer and Gasmet test gas generator (for Hg0). A heated dilution probe with a two-stage blowback system ensures the durability and low maintenance of the system even in demanding conditions.

Voluntary mercury monitoring as a key part of stakeholder relationships

Many cement and waste-to-energy operators opt-in for continuous mercury monitoring before the authorities make it mandatory. This offers multiple benefits relating to the environmental management of the plant. The most typical reasons include:

Minimize environmental impact
Mercury emissions pose a significant threat to our ecosystems, affecting air and water quality. By implementing continuous monitoring, industries can identify and address sources of mercury release, minimizing their ecological footprint.

Prove the safety
Mercury exposure can have severe health implications for both humans and wildlife. Our monitoring solutions help industries stay ahead of potential risks, creating safer environments for workers and communities.

Show your responsibility
Demonstrating a commitment to monitoring and reducing mercury emissions enhances your company’s reputation. Stakeholders such as decision makers, investors, environmental groups and local communities are increasingly valuing businesses that prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Optimize your mercury abatement
Heterogeneous waste streams are prone to have a direct effect on large variations in the flue gas mercury content. Measuring continuously gives the total picture of mercury, giving the ability to optimize the mercury abatement into appropriate level.

Be prepared for new regulation
Staying proactive in monitoring mercury emissions ensures that your business is prepared for any future regulatory changes. Collecting invaluable data and experiences keeps you on top of any new requirements.
